About the project

Senior Campus is a practical answer to isolation.

Senior Campus is an infrastructure initiative managed by Education On The Go Corp, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Brooklyn, New York. This site explains the vision, the need, and the building progress — openly, milestone by milestone.

The first phase is intentionally concrete: land, water, septic planning, foundation, and a long accessible home with private rooms, showers, toilets, and porch access. Not renderings of a tower — a real place a real person can live in with dignity.

How it began

It started with phone calls.

For years, Education On The Go volunteers have been calling older adults in the Jewish and Russian-speaking community — a warm weekly voice for people whose children live far away, whose friends have passed, whose English never quite caught up with their life in America.

The calls help. But again and again, the same truth came through the receiver: a phone call cannot pour a second cup of tea. It cannot sit on a porch. It cannot walk to Shabbos dinner together. People did not just need to be checked on — they needed a place to belong.

Senior Campus is the answer that grew out of those thousands of conversations: a nonprofit campus where community is not a program on a calendar, but the shape of the place itself.

What we are building toward: a shared table, candles on Friday night, and no empty chairs.

What we believe

Three commitments shape every decision.

People before buildings

The calling program, visits, and holiday warmth run today — before a single wall stands. The campus will grow around a community that already exists.

Build slow, build right

Water, septic, foundation, and accessibility come before paint and photos. Unglamorous decisions made early are what make care affordable later.

Two languages, one table

English and Russian live side by side here — on this site, on volunteer calls, and at the future Shabbos table. Nobody should be lonely in their own language.

A phone call cannot pour a second cup of tea. That is why we are building a place, not just a program.— the idea behind Senior Campus, in one sentence
